Applications for membership to Carpenters Local Union 225 are accepted Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.  It is very important to arrive early since our Business Representatives leave the office to conduct jobsite visits with our contractors after 10:00.  Applicants need to bring a valid Social Security Card and Drivers License.  We accept Cash, Checks, Money Orders, Visa and Master Card (Credit Cards accepted in Office only)  for Union Dues.
 
NEW Apprentices shall pay $88.20 to join. (4 months Union Dues)
 
NEW Journeyman shall pay $132.30 to join. (6 months Union Dues)
 
Ex-Members that have been "Suspended" for less than 24 months will be required to reinstate their membership.  An Ex-Member is not allowed to reinstate their membership if more than 24 months have passed from their "Paid through Date"  The Ex-Member must pay all back dues and fines, plus 6 months dues forward by cash or money order.
 
Ex-Members that have been "Suspended" for more than 24 months will be required to reinitiate.  This means the member will receive a new service record that will reflect the date that they rejoin the Local Union.  There will be no continuation of service time.  The Ex-Member is required to pay a $300.00 Initiation Fee, $50.00 Ex-Member Fee, all fines listed on the account, plus 6 months dues forward by cash or money order.
 
 
Please note: 
  1. This application is not for a job, but for membership into the Union.
  2. Members are not eligible to transfer out to another Local Union until six (6) months of service has been completed.
  3. Members or Applicants who write checks that are returned "Insufficient Funds" or "Payment Stopped" will be charged a $10.00 fine and must pay in cash or money order for the next 12 months.
  4. Each member is required to notify the Local, Southern Benefits, and their employer of changes in address or telephone number.  Apprentices will also need to notify the JATC.
  5. New members are required to attend the New Member Orientation class.  Members will be notified by mail as to the date and time of the class.
  6. If you are working out of the jurisdiciton of Local Union 225, you are required to check in with the Local in the jurisdiction that you are working in a file a reciprocal agreement to make sure your pension and health benefits are filed correctly.
